Rock should be worrying not just about his "man card", but also his Fictional Detective's Licence. In American detective fiction it's the accepted thing to mention the make and model-year of every car in the story and a common hobby to have and maintain a classic car. This is sometimes taken to the point that we wonder why villains don't say things like, "Gee, Mugsy, ain't that der same lovin'ly re-stored 1958 Cadillac dat followed us yesserday?" "Duh, no, Bugsy, it muss be anudder one."
